From the country woods to the city and town streets, times have changed. I am intrigued by the sights and sounds of the city and the fast pace of life, as contrasted to the tranquility of a rural community with their slower moving timeclock, it's country ways and woods. Soaring overhead in travels, one gets a different aerial perspective of the scale of buildings and people and our existence in the universe. The patterns and shapes offer textures from above which can only be seen from that vantage point. To rise above the drone of noise is freeing; one can detach and let the spirit flow within. Tranquility and peace is within, wherever you are. Painting gives me that feeling.

My love of flowers began as a little girl of 5, living on our farm in Burke, Virginia. I would pick dandelions and sit in the grass makeing clover necklaces. Flowers grew everywhere. My favorite pastime was drawing and coloring flowers. "Flowers from the heart" are my passion. Their spectacular beauty is endless. Painting them is like breathing for me, it is natural and spontaneous.
